Fuel filter, not applicable unless you are changing the fuel pump, this is known as a strainer or fuel sock. A lot of newer cars, 2004 and up have done away with the in line fuel filters. Sugest using a fuel injector cleaner, I use Seafoam, pricey but worth it

Poor start. have to crank several times.

Replace the fuel filter and see if that helps. You may have a failing fuel pump. I do not have enough information to advise you more.
