Sounds like I'm pushing a snow plow? same thing happened to my dad's envoy and it was a half axle. I took my trailblazer in and they're telling me it's a wheel bearing without even lifting it. The half axle would be warranty work, can these create the same horrible grinding sound?

Yes, the bearings can make that sound and thats more than likely the problem. you can fix it yourself and come out alot cheaper. just grab a manuel from your local parts store, and go at it.

I had TONS of issues with my 2001 Jimmy 4wd. A few things to check; the 4wd actuator switch, the vacuum switch, hub assembly, and the electronic 4wd dash switch.
need to take the vehicle and put it on a lift where the wheels dangle in midair.. unce raised look at the drive axles and see if the joints are messed up.. that sounds like the problem to me..one of the c v joints may be broken..
just by the sounds that you are saying that the muffler is bent is not a good thing. you will need to try and bend it somewhat straight again or you will do damage to the engine because the exhaust pressure is not being able to escape the engine like intended, and with this the engine could overheat and you will have major engine problems
Does that have an electric clutch? I'm thinking it does ... I'm not really the guy to give you a comprehensive answer on this ... but check the power to the clutch.
