SOURCE: Fuel Gauge Problems
Hey there. Well, I had the same problem on a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. I thought I'd take the easy out and just replace a fuel sending unit. Don't waste your time. Swap out the entire fuel pump. Go to your favorite autoparts store (Autozone) and ask for them to price the fuel pump. There will be options, get the part number for the cheap one ($80 Airtex, I got mine from a place in Miami). Look up the part number on ebay and buy it for about $80 complete. Spend the money and get a new fuel filter from parts store as well as a Haynes repair manual for the truck. Follow the instructions for fuel pump removal in section 4. You should have a degree of confidence on auto repair or take is straight to a reputable shop. You do need to do some very important things (relieve fuel pressure, drop the fuel tank with the truck on high ramps or jack stands, etc.). This is NOT for the novice. Otherwise, expect the task to take 4 to 6 hours if you don't have a lift. A shop should charge 1 1/2 hours labor and cost of the pump - you need to ask yourself what your time is worth.
Good Luck

try putting key in ignition turn to on position
then press lock & unlock several times slowly if door locks cycle up & down after 1st press it lost code and is now resynconised.
now try remote with all doors closed and key out of ignition
if this dont work need to register key(program)back into system which dealer must do with Tech2 if round heart shapped remote
