I'm also experiencing with my saab, some white smoke coming out of the exhaust almost like white/blueish smoke. When I turn on the AC it comes out like crazy, but when i turn it off it will stop however after some time driving, when I accelerate under 70 km/hr or stop at a stop light it will smoke again, however when I let go of the gas pedal, the smoke will stop. I've changed my oil a few months ago and I've added engine oil. I have no idea what this could be, does anyone have any suggestions?
Its a pvc problem had the same thing in my car when driving slow a little piece in the pvc is clogged and the smoke instead of coming out slowly comes out alot cuz the pressure gets built up
Could also be a warped cylinder head, especially if you've been driving it that way for a while.
If you are noticing a higher than normal temperature indication, this is also indicative of a blown head gasket, warped cylinder head, or both. If your coolant levels seem to be dropping faster than normal it can mean that you're leaking it into the engine. Or, it can be that you have a coolant leak which caused you to overheat, and then blew the head gasket. It's something of a "chicken or the egg" situation.
The best way to determine if this is the case is to change your oil again and inspect it. If it looks like "milkshake," you have coolant mixing with the oil.

I've had this happen on two occasions, the first when I bought the car and now a second time within the last two months. The mechanic told me it was in relation to a failing turbo. The first turbo failed at around 70k miles, but now im about to have a second fail currently at 140k miles. It costs about $1300-$1500 to replace parts and labor but sometimes you can get a "rebuilt turbo" for les.
Good Luck
1999 Saab 9-5, 4cyl turbo, 142k miles
My Saab had this same problem. I blew the head gasket got it fixed, but come to find out I actually blew my turbo.
OIL IN THE cyl
White smoke from exhaust = water into the cylinders, when this happens it usually means head gasket gone or starting to go.
Check the water level, and take the car to the garage for a check up , if it is the head gasket, as I think, you risk to blow the engine at any time.

I bought my 1999 Saab 95 about four months ago for 3000 and thought it was thebest car I have ever had until today. It started losing power then all the sudden started smoking a white blueish smoke out the exaust. I blieve this is a Turbo poblem but I really am not sure. I am really not very techno savvy when it comes to this kind of stuff. I usually do all my own mechcanic work on my cars but this is all new territory for me.
