The heater and a/c blend door actuator motor is located behind the center of the dash just below the windshield. The steering column must be detached and lowered and the dash must be removed to access the blend door motor.

Lincoln MKX.....duel climate control......heat working on drivers side but not on passenger side.....blower is working....no heat just cold air.

There is a part called a air temperature control blend door in the ducting of the system and the door is operated by a tiny DC motor, if the passenger side will not change temperature at all then this little motor may be defective or the door is warped and sticking from heat.

Why after replacing the blend door acturater in my 1997 lincoln which I had a code 024 for is it blowing just hot air now??

I am not aware of any obd codes that show up for what you are describing as a 024. The blend door actuator replacement is documented: http://www.markviii.org/LOD2/blend_door_repair.htm
and I would have to say that it is either bad or installed wrong.

Heater doesn't get hot on 96 chevy truck. Blows good, just cold. Replaced thermostat, flushed radiator. Any ideas?

Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat or no AC (dependes on where door sticks)

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

Other causes of no heat in the cabin are engine thermostats that are stuck open (engine runs cold) or air bubbles in the cooling system.

Need to know the codes for ac system in 98 lincoln

Hi there:
Error Code 24 - AC/Heater Air Temperature Control Blend Door failure
If it comes up 24 or 25 it is the blend door actuaton, or the shaft on the door is stuck (rust). Basically, there's a small geared electic motor that controls the blend door position of the hot/cold blend of air; keep in mind that this device is called an actuator and it breaks.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

No heat,1997 lincoln mark 8.self test dtc code 155.all funcitons but no heat.whats a guy to do?

You have a stuck air temperature control blend door problem. The blend door is what moves to divert air across the heater core and AC core to heat or coll the air or a combination of the hot and cold air streams, to blend them. To replace the part requires that the dash be removed from car as the door is located in the production.

Constant high heat

on climate control press off and heat button and let go quickly. Then press automatic. The display will start rotating eventually displaying a code 025,125 , 024 etc. Then press defrost to stop. You may hear blend door operating atb that time. It worked for my climate control.

96 lincoln town car with climatecontrol does notturn off heat

The blend door actuator motor is located under the front center of the dash at the bottom of the windshield. It does require the removal of the dash. I have changed several of them myself. You can usually tell if it is bad by a clicking sound coming from that area of the dash. It is an electrical motor and it is a plastic gear about the size of the tip of your little finger that causes the failure.
