It is your wheel bearing. the bearing is a sealed unit so you replace the hub assembly. remove wheel, caliper, brake rotor.if it is 4x4 loosen axle nut. there are three 15mm bolts on back side of spindle remove these and slide hub out replace with new one. most hubs come with new wheel speed sensor so remove harness from connectors or if no new one remove the screw holding it in place to hub and slide out.

some hubs are covered by the 100k mile powertrain warranty. chevrolet changed it around this time on some models as to wjhat was covered i believe yours is covered so if less than 100k miles on truck talk to your dealer to see may be done at no cost to you

Wheel bearing? If you turn left and it gets louder. It is the right wheel bearing. And vice versa.

Humming noise wheel

Sounds like you replaced the front bearing. Could be a rear wheel bearing, or one of the tires.

I just bought an2003 ford explorer 4x4 and i have a loud humming noise coming from the front end tires are brand new it has around 190,000km please help

If the noise is only when the vehicle is moving it sounds lek you have a bad wheel bearing. You can inspect ford move ment or play shaking the tires up and down and left to right while lifted up on hoist or jack. If there is no movement doesn't necesarily mean the bearings are okay, however if there is movement in bearing replace and drive again. Antoher way to determine Which wheel bearing is bad is to drive and turn to the left, if the noise gets louder than it mens the rightside wheel bearung is bad. If you turn to the right and noise gets louder replace driver side front wheel bearing. Also Rub your hands across your tires, does it feel wavy or uneven, you could have cupped tires, I DON'T KNOW HOW NEW THEY are but cupped tires will also make this noise. One way to see if it is the tires is to do a rotate If noise changes at all then you no its a tire causing noise. Hope this helps.

Loud humming noise from drivers side front end changed hub assembly still have noise ????????????????

humming noise usually comes from wheel bearings. did you change that with a new bearing? also choppy or worn tires can cause humming noise that sounds like bad wheel bearings. rotate your tires and see if the noise changes. if so its tires. also even if it sounds like its from the right it could very well be a bad bearing in another location.

Loud humming noise from front end of Durango 4 x 4

You have a hub/wheel bearing going out. You need to jack up the vehicle on each side. Grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to move it in/out at the top and bottom. If this does not work then roll the wheel as fast as you can and see if you can hear which one it is. Good Luck.

Change the tire. Your tires might be worping from the inside. I had the same problem. It might need an aligment too.
