The trucj was sitting outside (current temp 10°F...snowing). We started the truck, let it warm up, n drove for maybe 3 mi when the temp gauge switched all the way th hot and check gauge illuminated. No visible smoke from the hood and no smell of radiator fluid. Opened the hood once pulled over and opened the hood; there was smoke and slight smell of radiator fluid. We have not checked the fluid levels becauseit is still hot. I just recently had the coil replaced (cyl 3 was misfiring, check engine light was on, and code indicated coil needed replacement). New battery connectors were also installed due to corrosion build up on old ones. Two days ago the battery light illuminated and remained lit for about 10 min while driving before it shut off on its own. This has happened one other time upon start up. Since having connectors replaced, I have not had any issues with the vehicle starting properly. What do I need to do to safely get my truck home? How do I know if there is a loose house, thermostat is out, or if my engine is now damaged?
