Let the vehicle cool then drive it home, don't stop unless you have to and if you do for more than a minuet shut the engine off till you can move again. 3 miles in the snow should not hurt anything. when you get home let the vehicle cool for at least an hour before you touch the radiator cap. when cool take off the radiator cap and see if the radiator is full. if the radiator is full then the thermostat probably stuck shut, if the radiator is empty you probably blew a hose or the thermostat housing cracked along the seam where it's bonded together. i wouldn't drive far like this either way just enough to get home, then get it checked by a professional.
