The check Transmission light comes on, along with the Air Bag light, and the volt meter climbs to 16. When all of this happens the car will NOT go. Well, it goes a little, but not very far and not fast at all.
My 95 trooper is doing the same exact thing. The Trans light flashes along with the battery, air bag, and brake lights. This happens for about 10 seconds and then it goes back to normal. This happened 4 times on my way to work this morning on the freeway. I am thinking that it could be the trans computer? My 95 trooper is doing the same exact thing.
I believe the voltage regulator is built into that alternator, and it would do well to check the alternator output,as well as battery terminal connections.A bad voltage regulator can give the symptoms you are experiencing.

The security light coming on then off after 5 seconds , is ok . No problem there . Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits ? Viewing wiring diagrams , testing with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? Checking right front wiring harness for damage , any control modules in that area that got crunched etc....
Plus reading how an what is suppose to happen in order for your vehicle too start . Computer controlled . Front passenger ? Door , passenger front fender ? Did air bag pop , deploy ? If so it won't start till the system is reset . DEALER
If there's a silver lining, at least it may be easier to diagnose. If it happened one at a time, you would be looking at lemon laws.
The bad news is it will probably require a digital volt-ohm meter and a wiring diagram of the car to see what they all have in common, and start tracing current paths.
The air bag light should be setting a trouble code. that's where I would start.
check battery volts should be 12.6 volts. alternator faulty.check under hood see if alternator drive belt tight not too loose.with engine running alternator out put at battery should be 13.5 - 14 .5 volts.
Take a volt meter and put the test leads on the battery terminals,
red to positive,
black to negative,
set meter to 12 volts dc
If the meter reads less than 14 to 15 volts dc, the alternator is not charging and needs a new one.
isuzu trooper 3.0 airbag light.comes on goes off and bk on again when started.. have had seats out and checked wires on reinstallation.but wont go out?
CHECK THE ALTERNATOR OUT PUT USING A DIGITAL VOLT METER.IT SHOULD BE 13.5 TO 14.5 VOLTS.IF NOT REMOVE IT HAVE IT CHECKED AT ADVANCE AUTO OR AUTO ZONE.THEY WILL CHECK IT FREE.DUE TO LOCK OUT FEATURES.BESURE TO TURN OFF RADIO.BEFORE REMOVING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.SO YOU WONT LOSE RADIO CODE TO PLAY RADIO.
Check and see if your alternator is charging Low voltage will cause those lights to come on, as the computer is shutting down.
To check your alternator you will need a volt meter... WITH the engine running you should have about 14 volts coming out. IF NOT you need to replace the Alternator!
yes... bad ground to battery...rain has exacerbated it... check/charge /replace battery..test charging system and have all battery connections..especially ground cleaned and tightened ..good luck
It is emission related.
Pull the codes from the computer, match the code to the troubleshooting
procedure, follow the procedure to find the source. Repair the source,
light will go out if that was the only problem. There are "monitors" or
self tests the computer runs the car through a drive cycle, if a
problem occurs, it may not run all of the self tests until that problem
is taken care. Therefore, another problem may exist. OR hook up a
scanner that is capable of clearing codes, and hope that none are still
active.
