If its not accually running rough you may have a worn engine/trans mount. always check the basics before jumping off of a [elctrical] cliff

It may be idle control sensor or a bad mas air flow sensor--maf sensor in otherwords. or could be engine misfire at cold temp. start. only time when cold? or does run better when warm? try warming engine to operating temperature before driving,if problem removes it's self after warm up,up grade gas to 93 octane for 1 tank full. then see if problem goes away. it's cold where you are right? if so the fuel needs to be at least midgrade 89 octane fuel because 87 octane fuel will not start your honda correctly at cold temps. in cold weather 93 or super gas octane will start ,no problem, low octane fuel sometimes gels, or freezes at low temps. if in warm climate, change the fuel filter, add fuel injector cleaner to your fuel tank[preferablly lucas fuel treatment] this will lube your fuel injectors and give better fuel mileage. thank you for choosing fixya.com

Bad front end vibration while in gear at idle only makes dash and floorboard vibrate

When you are in gear at idle with your foot on the clutch you have placed an axial load on the crank which is pushed forward in the main bearings against a thrust bearing. I suspect a failing thrust face on this bearing as it only works under a clutch release load. The only other point that is under load is the clutch throw out bearing but if that is failing you should be hearing a tinny type of rattle when you have the foot on the clutch

Honda civic 1.6A vibrating problem. Manufacture year 2008. Have driven for just 2 years & 1 mth, clocked only 27,300 km to-date

does it vibrate at highway speeds or sitting still at idle? the highway speed vibration could be tires out of balance. the idle speed vibration could be weak engine mount or idle speed too low.

My 2001 Escort, 70k runs great but a definate vibration at the steering wheel. I notice it more when cold andwhen it warms up it is not as bad but still noticable vibration at the steering wheel. ...

That mechanic wasn't lying. I currently own three of them and I know a lot of people that own them and they all have a rough idle. The engines are internally balanced and they don't have dampeners, so you get the engine vibration transferred to the car and that is what you are feeling.

Enging vibrating at idle

1) It is very possible your engine mounts can be worn, but

2) the vibration you feel may be also due to the idle itself degrading to the point that the car is shaking. Does the engine sound like it is getting ready to die? what is the engine rpm when you feel the vibration? You may just have a dirty throttle body. In this case, clean the throttle body plate and bore and the problem will go away.

3) did the problem seem to come on suddenly or gradually, if gradually, you may just need some plugs and/or wires, and/or cap/ignition rotor, etc. (a tune up)

4) Also, do you only feel the vibration when the AC system is on?

5) there are some other reasons for abnormal engine vibration at idle, but the above are some of the most common, and simpler to repair.

All the best with the repair!

If you can, please provide more information about your vibration. Mine vibrates at idle, but it's within normal operating ranges for 217,000 miles.
You could also take a look at the engine mounts.
