you have to remove the speedo unit on the dashboard front of your steering wheel. you must be careful not to brake anything. then turn it slightly on the left and you will see the speedo cable connector in the center of the unit, Unplug it,it is easy, the go in the engine compartment on the gear box side and you will see the speedo cable ended on top of the gear box close to firewall and you have to unscrew the end and slowly slowly pull the cable coming off the fire wall from the driver's side by pulling as well a rubber sealer on the firewall. renew it and go backwards fitting.
the speedometer cable could be broken or the gear may be worn. to check remove the cable from the gearbox side and turn the wire inside by your fingers while someone watches from the inside to see if the needle moves. if it does not then replace the cable.
I just had a non abs spindle put on my 06 corolla and my speedometer stop working and I have an abs light on now
so i am gonna try to put an abs spindle on and recconnect the abs sensor
hopefully that is the problem just an abs sensor connection
hi, you can replace it with that one but the speedo would be between 1 and 2mph out as they use different amounts of teeth depending on the size of your wheels, it wont do no harm just be carefull going past speed cameras
CHECK YOUR VECHICLE SPEED SENSOR WIRE FOR DAMAGE.OR THE MAGNET GEAR ON TRANSMISSION OUT PUT SHAFT IS BROKEN OR DAMAGE.IF THEY ARE GOOD YOUR PROBLEM IS IN THE DASH.BROKEN SPEEDOMETER.
