1994 2.8 Exceed, xmas day car started then brokedown after 3 miles. Recovered the car to home charged both Batteries and put them back on the car. The following morning the car was dead, not even the central locking was working. Bought 2 new batteries and replaced the old one's on Tuesday evening (4th Jan), ran the car all day Wednesday no problems, ignition warning light went out the moment the car started to suggest the alternator was working ok. Came to start the car this morning (Thursday) and it was dead no electrics at all, can you please advise. Many thanks John

But thts not all it would read good voltage but as soon as the car hit a bump it would lose power and how id tell lights get dim andthe tack would stop working
I will say is the plug on the back of the alternator on the count of our Montero having that problem 1 minute the dash lights Work1 minute the dash lights won't work and then it will lose charge and then it will crank and run off of battery power and then and we'll die

It sounds like your alternator is bad. East way to confirm, take it to local auto parts store (IE: Autozone, Advance, etc) and have them do a FREE charging system test. Couple of thoughts; you have two new batteries and your poor alternator has to work twice as hard. After you put new batteries in, you've been running on straight battery power. Alternator normally runs all your electronics and recharges battery(s) but if Alt has gone "south" then you're on straight battery power.

2010 Honda Odessey Handicap Van won't start after sitting for a couple of days. Have a new battery bewst from Sears. Mileage iiiis @ 7K miles. and we don't use the van to often.

Not clear what is happening but you say it does not run a lot of miles. I do know even with a new battery the van must run every once in a while to keep the battery charged up. Batteries run down just sitting and has to run at least a number of miles to charge up. I suggest you purchase a little battery charger that you can leave hooked up to the battery all the time and when you want to use the van just pull the plug out of your extension cord. Then plug it back in when you are back home. That way you know the battery is charged fresh all the time. You might want to have the battery checked for power just to make sure the battery is operating properly. Any place that sells batteries should do this for free.

The engine in our 1994 Ford Taurus 3.0L had been running hot and due to a busy schedule I drove it with the heater on for several weeks to keep the temperature gauge down. I purchased a thermostat and...

my guess is a blown head gasket. I would do a compression test on all cylinders to be sure. these engines wont stand much high temperature running before blowing the head gasket. you can rent a compression tester from your local autoparts store usually for free.

I have a 1994 5 speed 4 cylinder mazda mx3 and about one block from home after down shifting to second the car shutoff/brokedown? while in motion. As i was still moving i was able to turn the car back on...

If you downshifted into second at too high of a speed, you may have broken some major parts. I would get it checked by a professional who can properly assess the damage.

The 12 volt battery(LUCAS 065/3) on my FORD FIESTA 1100cc is 4 years old, in that time i have only driven 1,600 miles as my journeys are usually very local. I make sure i use the car twice a week to keep...

Running so few miles has accelerated the aging of the battery - the battery never had a chance to fully recharge in such small trips -  so now you have to replace it a year sooner than usual.
Just replace it.

2005 Aveo brokedown just after hearing loud tin

You have one of several things wrong
1- threw a rod = expensive
2- locked the engine up = expensive
3- lost the timing belt or chain = expensive but not as - IF _-- you didn't bend any rods

I hope this kind of helps - as I know no one wants to hear this kind of news.
I hope the best for you but it does sound like major engine problems.
