Hello Dave.
On the pump there is a bracket with an adjuster on it.
First you must loosen the bolt designed to tighten the bracket from slipping after the adjustment is set and the pump pivot on the opposite side.
Then the long adjuster bolt must be loosened to allow the pump to swing.
A little bit of light oil on the threads will aid turning them.
On the diagram below look at the top left to see the brackets.
I apologize for the size of it, we are limited here.
if you need more help with this please ask me here.

Hi First put on your safety glasses, raise the hood and disconnect both battery cables. Carefully review the routing diagram prior to performing the replacement repair. Take note or draw a diagram of the current serpentine belt route to make sure that it's reinstalled and re-routed correctly. Remove the radiator shroud (safety cover) and the fan to obtain better access to the entire pulley system. Take out the bolts located on the top of the shroud and remove the shroud. Disconnect the fan by removing the six small bolts that attaches the fan to the fan motor, using a socket wrench.Locate the pulley tensioner used to loosen the serpentine belt for removal. Release the belt tension using a serpentine belt tool by turning the center tensioner bolt clockwise. Hold clockwise to release tension from the belt and slip off the belt. The tensioner will flex back to its normal position once released. Now re-route the replacement serpentine belt according to your diagram starting with the upper alternator pulleys, and continuing through to the power steering pump and remaining pulley units. Place the serpentine belt tool in position and turn clockwise to again release the tension.Hold the tensioner clockwise while maneuvering the belt around the tensioner pulley and release. The tensioner will return to its normal position and apply tension to the entire serpentine belt system. It is better that you compare the manufacturer's diagram located under the hood with your hand-written note to confirm that the replacement belt is routed correctly.Re-connect the fan to the fan motor and attach the shroud. Reconnect the battery cables and start the engine. Visually inspect the belt for problems and listen for squeaking caused by a loose or slipping belt. 2. Remove battery from vehicle.
3. Remove air cleaner outlet hose, engine
under cover ( right side ) and exhaust pipe # 2 .
4. Disconnect " B " terminal wire
and coupler from the Alternator ( Generator ) .
5. Remove Alternator ( Generator ) belt.
6. Remove power steering
pump. Do not disconnect hoses.
6. Remove Alternator ( Generator ) cover.
7. Remove Alternator ( Generator ) bracket
mounting bolts.
8. Remove Alternator ( Generator ).
Power Steering pump has three bolts- 2 behind the pulley
at 12 and 6 o'clock and one bolt on the back.
Once you get the power steering pump out of the way you can
remove the last bolt on the alternator
Ok...I did not remove
axle or disconnect hoses on power steering...I did unbolt power
steering pump and moved off to side.
after that I disconnected sensor on throttle
body and very carefully lifted alternator through the top where your air intake
assembly would have been at, right next to A.C. refrigerant lines. It
takes a minute , you HAVE TO BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE SENSOR!!
However it is a lot faster that taking off drive shaft and
exhaust pipe!
If you go to AutoZone .com they
have exploded diagrams of the parts you have to take off and they will show you
bolt locations, the power steering pump bolt at 6 o'clock drove me crazy.
P.S. Get a ratcheting 12 mil wrench, it's a life and knuckle saver!!

That is a general fix for a serpentine belt at the front of an engine. The Infiniti I35 engine is mounted sideways. The serpentine belt replacement is a no-brainer for me and has already been completed. The power steering belt goes from the main shaft pulley to the pump pulley and is behind the serpentine belt. They are both accessed by removing the right front tire and shrouds. I can't find out how to loosen the power steering belt only!
