Can a 1999 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter motor fit in a 2002 dodge intepid that also contained a 2.7 liter motor are they compatible

Look at the cars vin# on the door panel. the 99 model it will tell you what month and year the car was made such as 06/1999 if the 1999 model was made from 06/99 not before but 06/99 and above the engines will fit. also check the bolt patterns on the transmissions and starter location on each motor to see if in the same locations. if all match,they will interchange. thank you for choosing fixya.com
