SOURCE: How do I change the fuel pump on a 2000 Acura TL?
hi, when you turn the ignition on do you hear the fuel pump start up if you do then the pump is fine if how ever you hear nothing then the chances are its going to either be the fuel pump or fuel pump relay, if you have a look in your fuse box you should be able to find the fuel pump relay if you cant locate it then its best you get a manual to show you the relays location, you can then put a finger on the relay and when you turn the ignition on you should feel a little click coming from the relay if you hear this then the pump needs replacing but if you hear or feel nothing then the chances are the relay needs replacing.
you can also check if the pump is working by removing the fuel feed hose from the injector fuel rail then once this is removed you put a tub under it then turn the ignition on if you have fuel shooting out then you know the fuel pump and relay are ok and you need to start thinking of some other problem such as ecu etc,
see what you find then get back to me and ill try and assist you further ok

you need to have the fuel pressure checked at the engine and then check the line for flow

You either have igniton issue or a fuel issue. Both can be caused by several reasons. If you want to diagnose this yourself and you have the tools and know how I recommend going to mitchell1diy and paying the ten bucks for the info. If you don't have the tools and know how then noone is going to be able to give you an apsolute on what exactly is the problem without hands on testing but my first choice is for a fuel issue fuel pump relay and or fuse and crankshaft position sensor or ignition module for an ignition issue or ign or pcm fuse if applicable.
This is providing you don't have a security lockout activated. Your best bet is to get any codes stored first in order to proceed.
