fan will not turn on. I believe its the switch. How do you remove the console panel?

You could hacve a bad resistor. The part numbe is: 3m5z-18591-ba. The resistror is located behind the glove box. Empty the Glove Box and squeeze the sides of the box and it will drop down. Get a flash light and look to the left of the blower motor (inside the glove box compartment) you will see a blue thing with some wires and a quick disconnect (QD). Squeeze the sides of the QD and pull the wire connection off the resistor. Then use a short Phillips Head Screwdriver and remove the one screw at the bottom of the resistor. Then remove the resistor and replace it. Even if it is not bad and you replace it, you will save time and money doing it later because the rewsistors do fail and can prevent the fan switch from working. db

Well, check the fuse/relay then you will need to remove the control panel to access the switch then check the switch its self in all positions with a volt meter. if none of those things have found the prob then you prob have a bad blower motor. most likely its a fuse/relay usualy or a switch. when a motor goes it usually will still blow on high. if its out completely it ususaully smells like burnt tape.dont worry its prob something simple and cheap, ie fuse/relay. Need to know where the fan motor and resistor is located on the 2003 Ford Focus. Car overheats while idling, driving, in park, and it'll still overheat when the heater is on. Tell me what site I can find...

Cars usually overheat when the thermostat is faulty, coolant level is low, or the water pump fails. If your cooling fan on the radiator does not kick on shortly after the engine reaches operating temperature, you may have a bad cooling fan, cooling fan relay, or cooling fan fuse. If your engine is overheating, start by checking the fluid level, and installing a new thermostat.

A blower motor resistor is the device that controls a car's cabin heating and air conditioning unit's fan speeds. This usually won't cause the engine to overheat, your A/C fan may not function or only function at one speed. Here is a Blower Motor Resistor from Autozone: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/2003-Ford-Focus/A-C-Heater-Blower-Motor-Resistor/_/N-jk8uvZ91tag

My 2003 ford focus heats up every once in a while I turn the heater on full blast it goes down to normal. Does anyone have any idea what maybe the problem

Something is wrong with the cooling system. You are using the heater and the heater fan as a secondary radiator and fan. The problem could be a temperature sensor on the engine or a burned out heater fan motor on the radiator/fan assembly. It could also be a fuse in the fan circuit. Your cooling system still has an adequate level of coolant or the heater trick would not work. Fix it soon. Eventually you will overheat the engine and loose your coolant.

The cooling engine on 2003 ford focus is not

Never hot wire a cooling fan on a computer run car. Check the relays fuses and resistor connector in between the two fans. They usually melt the connector. I fixed mine with two female spade connectors

Heater fan only works on fastest speed

Your blower motor resistor has gone bad, it should be located next to your blower motor in the car, held in place with a couple of screws, remove it and replace it. The resistor is responsible for making the blower motor run at slower speeds than high or (4). Let me know if this helps.
