Fuel Injection reset button

The fuel filter on a 1995 Mercury Tracer Trio is on the firewall closest to the bottom of the driver's side. might check timing belt, it might not be broken but sometimes they shear off 5 or 6 cogs and it throwes it off time

The fuel pump shut off switches can go bad and the self resetting one were the worst. The older ones had a white button on top you had to manually push. I usually just cut out the self resetting ones and connect the two wires together. Use shrink tube or even a wire nut wrapped in black tape to keep the connection from coming apart or corroding.

I don't think the fuel reset is going to do it. Does the engine sound different when it turns over than it used to? I think you might have got it too hot. Did you shut it off or did it shut its self off?

Look in the owners manual for the location of the fuel pump reset button usualy in the trunk area Push the reset button and you should be good to go.

do you mean the blower isnt working? it either blows or it doesnt? all speeds?

Replace the fuel pump relay switch under the drivers seat. And replace the fuel pump shut emergency fuel pump shut off switch. Should be located in rear of car in trunk area.

your owner manual will tell you.

here is for 96 tracer. don't have 89 but suspect same place in trunk.


In the event of a collision, the electrical contacts in the IFS switch open and the fuel pump (9350) automatically shuts off. The fuel pump will shut off even if the engine (6007) does not stop running. The engine, however, will stop a few seconds after the fuel pump stops. It is not possible to restart the engine until the IFS switch is manually reset. The IFS switch is located on the RH side of the luggage compartment. Access is gained through a hole in the luggage compartment back lower trim cover (40374).



To reset the IFS switch, depress the button on top of the IFS switch.

check the trunk of your car. There is a reset button there, That is the only reset switch I can think of for your car

blower motor is behind the glove box. also check the blower resistor it should be nex to the blower motor
