There should be an aldl (assembly line data link) plug under the drivers side of the dash. Ground the A and B terminals and turn the key to the run position. Count the number of times the check engine light flashes.

I guess I should have phrased that a little better. You can jump the A and B terminals together with a jumper wire. The B terminal is ground so you are, as elm6 suggested, grounding the A terminal.

Not very likely. You need to use a specific code reading tool or a laptop with specific software. A side effect of modern electronics.

I have a 2007 Chevy Colbalt LT. It seems like the automatic transmission is not shifting properly and the engine is staying at high rpms. I heard it could be the tcm so i took it to 2 different places to...

Were they pro level scan tools or cheap code readers? Cheap code readers can only read generic powertrain "P" codes P000X to P0800. You need a more expensive scan tool that's capable of reading "enhanced" or "manufacturer specific P1000 tp P3000 and B, C and U codes. However, if it says it can't communicate, that's an indication of a shorted module somewhere on the digital data bus

How to get codes from a 1995 jag

The 1995 Jaguar XJ6 is OBDII compliant. You can read engine codes using an aftermarket code reader. You may have to call it a 1996 in order for the tool to read the codes. What you can not read without Jaguar's own reader is the ABS codes. Good luck!

How do i read the trouble code on a 94 passport without a scanner

This is not possible without an error code reader Unless you have check engine or service engine light Then you can hotwire the port for connecting scanner
and it will flash the code to you using the check engine light on dash
But its quicker to use a reader.
Different car models you can get to flash codes to you contact you car dealer to enquire about it.

How to read codes on a 1994 Chevy K Blazer without a code reader?

To get codes you can use a wire to the A and B terminals on the connector
They are on the top row far right. Then turn key to on position and count engine light blinks. I will do code 12 first 3 times over (1blink,pause,2blinks) Then watch for different code blinks. If it keeps flashing code 12 then it's OK.
