Question about 2006 Chrysler 300

Open Question

I think I have blown a fuse however I do not know which fuse to replace. My trunk no longer pops open when I click my handheld clicker or the emergency trunk release button near the steering wheel. In addition, I have some interior lights that are out (the lights on the gear shift panel, the light for my dashboard clock, and the lights for my heating console. The lighting issue and the trunk popping issue both occurred at the same time. Can you please advise me which fuse number in which fuse box I need to replace and what ampage fuse I should get? I have not found any information in the fuses section of my owner's manual that indicates a particular fuse applying to the trunk popping and referenced interior lights. Thank you.

SOURCE: Chrysler PT Cruiser interior light fuse blown

hi ,
remove pos batt cable 1st
I would start examining the door switches since they are a constantly cycling part, Im not exactly sure how many accessories run off the door switches but I would examine the drivers door switch, study how the switch removes from the door, gently pull switch assembly out, being careful not to yank wires loose. remove it and look for arcing marks or soot, try all the doors, then I would disassemble the dome light itself if you cant find it, if you find the short you should reinsulate with thermoheat wrap heated with a hairdryer and maybe even some extra electric tape.

good luck

If the lights work with the hazards, your problem is not a fuse. You need what is called a multifunction switch. It is the switch that the directional arm goes into. It can be difficult to replace,

Hope this helps

First, have someone check the fuse; replace it if blown. Have someone check the button for electrical continuity; the button could be bad. Once trunk is open lube the cable and adjust it if necessary.

Trunk wont release with button on dash or using key fob

Hi, I believe this may be a fuse problem. The owners manual will show you the fuse box or boxes locations and what each fuse powers. If it is a blown fuse it may be that something in the trunk pinched the wire and shorted it. The wires as they run from the body to the trunk lid is a good place to check for a pinched wire or short. The unlock solenoid may be the culprit if it shorted out, just a possibility. If a fuse is blown, replace it then check to see if the brake light works. If so then try opening the trunk electronically, if the fuse blows again then you know that circuit is the problem. Good Luck, Jim

Power Locks dont work and neither does the trunk release

My car has a fuse box near the battery. when you take the cover off there is a map under the cover to show what all the fuses and relays are. I would check the fuses.

My remote trunk button works but the interior trunk button doesn't any more. Is there a fuse for it? Where would that be? All my fuses look good and I don't see anything labeled for trunk.

Just go under hood, open fuse box and replace the red 10 amp fuse. Its blown. Go in the junction box under the hood, not the one in the cab. If the diagram isnt legible, simply check the little fuses until you find the blown one. Its in the same box as all the relays and the bigger fuses. Theres a few smaller fuses in the junction box that are just like the ones in the cab. Find the blown one, replace and enjoy.

Trunk release button on 2001 ford focus will not work

So your trunk release button on the dash dpesn't seem to open the trunk.
Does your key fob button open the trunk? yes....then could be problem with switch but read on.
no......are your power door locks not working as well. not working.....check
fuse, on 2001 Focus the fuse is a 20amp number 63 on the back of the fuse panel under the dash. Pop cover off and undue the rwo screws. hold plastic retainers and pull off the fuse panel from metal frame. pull fuse panel down toand turn over so you can see the fuse.check fuse. blown? yes.......replace fuse with good one. test all door locks open/close then check fuse...if its blown the problem is something to do with the door lock circuits. if the fuse is still ok...try pushing the trunk open button. fuse still ok? then I am a loss toas to whats the problem but if the fiuse blew when trying the trunk button your problem is the trunk latch circuit.
Now if the trunk latch button is popping the fuse then disconnect wiring to
trunk latch (in trunk) and try the button again. Still blowing the it is the electrical before the trunk latch unit. If it did now blow the problem is something to do with the part of the circuit you disconnected.
How to go farther and find the problem exactly is not covered in this answer. You have to take it from here. JAG

The trunk would not open on 00' Bonneville

Check the fuse labeled ALDL. It is in the fuse box under the back seat, it is a 10 amp fuse. I had the same problem and it was blown. I replaced it and the trunk now pops and the fuel door works too. I found this on one of the bonneville forums. Hope this helps.

2004 cts cadillac trunk will not open with remote or with button on drivers door.

if you here a clicking sound when you push the remote or the drivers button then the solenoid and fuse are probably o.k. lubricate the trunk lid catch and operate the latch a few times, also check the tension on the trunk itself , it should lift up part of the way by itself, if not 1. lubricate the hinges and move trunk lid up and down. if still bad 2. if it has a tension rod adjust the rod to a stronger setting if it has gas shocks, 3.replace shocks. if no click and fuse is good solenoid may be bad
