Could be blown head gasket, if so you should have quiet a bit of white smoke also if this is problem.

SOURCE: Highway driving problem. City driving ok.

If you have been to three shops,I'll assume that all the basics have been covered. Did anyone check computer stored codes? What did they see? If you are going to try to fix it yourself, you will need to get a manual and check each and every component, one by one. Also, outside of the realm of computer stuff, check converter to make sure its not partially plugged. At low rpm city driving it may be flowing just enough to get by on. Also check that fuel is clean and has no water in it.

SOURCE: I have a 94 mazda mx-6 that overheats. It's fine

Are the fans turning on when in overheat? If not you might have a fan, relay or sender circuit problem.

Sender circuits monitor the cooling liquid temperature and then sends a signal to turn on the fans if it senses that the temp has exceeded the normal operating temp.

SOURCE: jeep overheats quickly at city driving , not at

city driving does not force air through the radiator like highway driving does. if it has overheated, suspect a blown head gasket caused by expansion of the head when warm rubbing against the gasket and tearing it. could be the water pump, pull a heater hose and start engine. if coolant blasts out, pump is working. caution!! coolant may be hot!!! if it trickles, you have a restriction or a bad pump. stupid question, you have coolant in the radiator, right?

check you're fuse's for the fan. At highway speed's there is enough air flow for the radiator to cool the motor. If not run the fan from a switch from battery to fan as a last resort.

While driving my f150, cools just fine after 20 miles it starts to overheat at lights

Could be a fan clutch, sticking thermostat, or restriction in the cooling system including air in the system.

My car is overheatting i changed the waterpump/thermostat/heatercore/reservoir and sensors

Does it slowly overheat while driving down the highway..If so the radiator is probably clogged..It can be partially clogged and cause the car to overheat,,but usually takes a little while...If it overheats in traffic..(stop and go ),,but does fine going down the road,,then it make sure your fan is coming on..

My 93 Honda Civic CX keeps over heating. There were no leaks coming from the radiator. We have replaced the water pump and thermostat and it is still overheating. What should I do?

Check the electric fan(s) on the radiator. If it doesn't overheat on the highway and does in city traffic, the most likely cause is the fan not running. there will be a "thermoswitch" that senses the coolant temp and at a certian point will turn the fan on. Make sure the fan is working too. Just apply 12volts to the connection and it should spin. WATCH YOUR FINGERS while you test the fan!!

1986 Pontiac Trans Am Overheating

Its overheating when you go up long hills because the engine is not getting adaquete air in the system. The radiator is angled to get optimal air a certain way. It may overheat but you shouldn't start seeing smoke.
