Suggest take it in to have the linkage adjusted.
If the mechanics can't get it to "sync" it means your rebuilt
valve body was junk.
I never repair anything inside the trans since there are only a handful of people on Earth who can work with the complex hydraulics of modern automatic transmissions.
I always replace the entire trans with a new one.
how does the trans fluid look?at proper level?it sounds like the front pump in trans is starving for fluid..filter may be plugged..does it shift ok?any fault codes?i would check these things and probably drop trans pan to see if any debris/dirt/metal in pan indicating an internal problem..i hope this helps
did you do the rebuild or did a shop do it? it sounds like the clutches werernt done properly. if the reverse is out the other gears will go out too if driven too far in that condition,
If you have no reverse then yes it needs to be rebuilt. as far as the whining it could be in one of the differentials. or in trans? just depends on where you hear it
