I posted this about a month ago on fixya but I believe it was an appliance section...no answers to date. cd changer jammed and has library cd's in there. got "err" then red flashing led, now no response, radio works. after 2 months of dealers and radio shops answer seems to be pull dash apart. need instructions / pictures it is very involved. I will welcome a soft reset method but concensus says not. any ideas, sites, dirction would be helpful. tried many online, library search groups, acura, honda, all came up empty. I guess fixya wants the paid service????

thank you idiotfix for trying. i did the battery & fuse trick first to force a reset. warning to others, it puts you into the antitheft loop with your radio, make sure you have your code...which I answered to another. I also discharged any capacitors by hitting + & - together. Neither worked. I am sure at this time I need to take apart the dashboard. Anyone who can give sites, pics or advice on where to start, please let me know.
8/15/08 3 MONTHS, THE CD JAM HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED! PLEASE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE. OR ADVISE HOW TO PROPERLY UTILIZE FIXYA.
I have a Acura TLS with a jammed CD. Eject does not work nor does it play or show any indication that the CD portion works at all. Radio continues to work. Is there an easy way to remove the Radio/CD player and clear the jammed cd?
cdjam here. fixed it myself. 2 pcs of molding (silver on mine) carefully removed (pried). reveals 2 ears and screws on each side of radio. remove 2 lower coin pockets. reach under / into cavity, 2 hex heads screwed vertically into frame. there is a screw behind the hazard button also. radio is now loose BUT, there are about 6-8 plastic snap connectors around the perimeter. these must be gingerly pried loose w/o damaging the soft dashboard....gingerly. then pull out radio enough to disconnect plugs. cd player is actually inverted (of coarse) there are about 50 small screws to disassemble. discs must be pried out 1 by 1. reassembe. i assume the the changer is useless as the mechanism is critical but i salvaged the cds and saved the $1200 fee. i'll wait til they make and ipod kit for the model DONE!
I have exact same problem with my 2004 Acura TL.
Eject or any protion of CD does NOT work or respond at all and even FM or AM radio Only plays for 5 seconds if the car is running then shuts off. But if the engine is not on, and only ignition is on...fm radio plays and doesnt shuts off in 5 seconds...but when I start the car it ONLY plays for 5 seconds.
Is there some other problem with the radio? Or is jammed CDs effect this problem?
