I have a really loud squeek coming from the drive shaft area, it seems to squeek with every wheel revolution. the faster i go the faster it squeeks.. and when im driving at like 50/55 and i let off the gas pedal, it seems to shake on the freeway and it makes the car drag when it should coast. i cant figure out whats wrong, ne ideas? u joints, drive shaft or axles? and if so how do i tell which one it is so im not replacing unnecessary items if possible... i have also looked at the tire rod (looks fine), the wheel bearings doesnt have much slack, and my sway bars r fine but they have a mushroomed bushing (but its not bad).. so im stuck.

Likely this is the drive shaft u-joints that will require replacement. Look for zert fittings (grease fittings) and if they are dry, likely the pin bearings inside have rusted and are dry. You can also shake the shaft up and down and look for movement. If still none is found, you can also try to have someone inside the vehicle with their foot on the brake and the park brake set, have them shift between drive and reverse and continue to look for movement. Let me know what you see.

Check the brakes, you might have a broken spring or have a brake shoe breaking up. If you have rear disc brakes, check for pad seperation.

My 2001 Nissan Altima has a squeeking sound coming from the drivers side wheel. It only squeeks when the car is moving. And I don't think it squeeks when I use the brakes. What could be causing it to...

You will need to pull the wheel off and inspect the brakes. Spray some brake fluid cleaner on the rotor and disc area to clean the brake dust off. Next, have the wheel bearing checked and replaced, a bad wheel bearing would cause your wheel to squeak.

When put into 4 high from 2wd I hear a squeek squeek squeek while driving about 20 or 30 km per hour

you have a bad ujoint on your front drive shaft. remove shaft and replace the bad one but i would replace both. its squeeking cause the bearings in it have turned to rusty powder and are dry, the bad one will be easy to spot

Loud squeeking coming from the belt area

you'll have to the belt if the belt is old.
also, a temporary solution i learned that gets rid of some of the noise is to slowly pour a pitcher of water on the belt while the car is on.

Squeek

Rear wheel bearings don't squeak, what could have happened is the brake shoe retaining clip hardware may have broke. Common to break due to corrosion if they have never been replaced. I always buy the brake shoe spring retaining kit every second break job since there only $15.00 at Auto Zone.
The other thing to that the squeak could be coming from is the U joints at the drive shaft. The U joints may have gone dry of grease and needs to be replaced, You have two of them and the drive shaft needs to be removed to change the U joints so might as well have both of them changed.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Major friction/squeeking from serpentine belt!!!!

Keith,it sounds like you may need to clean the grooved surfaces on your pulleys, you could remove the belt and use some aerosol brake cleaner and a stiff brush to remove any build-up on the pulleys.you could also try spraying the same on the pulleys while the car is running, just be sure and wear eye protection and don't get to close to any moving parts.
