Hi Experts, I have a 2011 exl 4wd pilot, it rides like I'm on a rutty dirt road, it also has a vibration that can be felt everywhere in the vehicle ex:steering wheel, seats, floorboard, gas pedal, console. When I go over railroad tracks at approximatly 10 mph the gas and brake pedals feel like they are being moved upwards, I also feel a engine vibration when I am stopped at a light. Also the drivers seat will not keep it's position. Can you help? Thanks, Crystal

Well If i were you, I would call the dealer and complain about it because its under warranty for 5 years or 100K miles and your car is new and you don't wanna play with it or let any Mechanic to touch it because that will screw the warranty. Problems like that should be consider as RECALL. Good luck

1990 Ford Bronco. I dont know much about vehicles but the shifter shifts into 4 High but doesn't engage the 4-wheel drive and I can't shift it to neutral or 4 Low. Any advice is accepted thank you?

MANUAL TRANSMISSION? or auto, well no matter
the transfer case matters./
FIRST TIME EVER USING PART TIME 4WD, CAR?
IF YES IT ONLY WORKS OF ROAD OR ICE/SNOW, NO ON PAVEMENT UNLESS COVERED IN ICE SNOW.
IT IS NOT FULL TIME 4WD OR AWD.
i CAN NOT SHIFT THE 4WD LEVER TO NEUTRAL YOU MEANT?
WELL THAT MEANS YOU WOUND UP THE FRONT AND REAR AXLES LIKE A SPRING,AND THE ONLY CURE IS 1 WHEEL(TIRE) MOVE TO DIRT.?(ICE) OR MORE.
THEN IT UNWINDS.
This car has no center differential.
and is not AWD or full time 4wd,
it s part time, means (ice or dirt ) said simple
moving car like that steering goes wild and fights you.
4wd is pure ww2 jeep like or like my new jeep wrangler
the user guide lost 32 years ago tells this same story..
of dry pavement locked , are you.
jack one wheel off ground and it un-winds.
with PART time 4wd, turning the inside wheel spin slower
and you wind it up just like clock. a very unsafe practice

My 2011 jeep liberty will not lock into 4 wheel drive

so what 4wd system is there, we can guess that.
ever.
part time, or AWD full time.
if part time stop doing that on pavement free of ice .
part time is for ice or dirt only
to be real tech savvy , on PT, it means, one tire on ice or dirt.
only.
lost the operators guide, ? in the glove box?
its here.

Jeep Liberty 4 Wheel Drive won't engage

part time or awd ?
do no engage part time 4wd on dry pavement.!! only on ice or dirt.
do post what your tires are touching? dirt or pavement????????

if stuck in 4L , on dry pavement , pull over to side of road, dirt
then shift out. if no dirt anywhere? sand or gravel or grass.?
then jack up one wheel then deselect 4Low. back do 2WD
options for your car, (do post what you have)
qoute sales brochure:
Those going 4WD can enjoy the standard Command-Trac II, or opt for the Selec-Trac II, featuring full-time AWD, 4WD Lo and a rearward-biased torque split. (end quote)

how you drive both cars, varies greatly.
in your glove box is an operators guide , did you read that yet

Front wheel is bumpy at low speed. 4x4 stuck?

If the 4wd was engaged on dry pavement you would have a difficult time making a turn because the front tires would be turning at the same time.
If the bump or vibration is felt when you are driving down a straight road I would agree with the ball joint or other suspension theory.
I will note here that Jeep Cherokee came with two different kinds of 4wd, one version can be driven on dry roads when engaged.

I get a thumping sound when driving that seems to get louder the faster you go , sounds like something loose underneath the car but everything seems tight

On my 2010 LaCrosse had a panel behind passenger side wheel weld that was loose, second time to dealer they found it. Almost felt like I has a flat tire by the sound!

1996 dodge grand caravan vibration 45 mph to 55 mph replaced right front axel still same problem vibration no felt in steering

Vibrations while driving like you are describing can come from tires that have defects (internally broken belts) (wheel weights that have fallen off) or a bent rim (perhaps from another driver [not you :-) ] hitting a curb) Are the tires worn? Have they been balanced and rotated regularly? You report no vibration in the steering wheel.
Vibrations during braking can be warped rotors or discs (but this doesn't sound like your problem since these kind are usually felt in the steering wheel during braking).
If and only if you feel like you can do this safely,
you can try getting the car up to 55, placing the car in neutral, then switching the "engine off" but leave the "key on" (be warned the power steering will go out but the vehicle can still be steered though the steering wheel will be much stiffer) if you try this (do it perhaps in a vacant parking lot or on an empty road) and the vibration goes away with the engine off but while the vehicle is still moving, then the vibration is engine or transmission related. If this is the case you might hope for maybe a bad engine mount. Bad engine mounts can be diagnosed with the vehicle stopped as well. However, if the vibration remains with the van moving forward but with the engine off, the vibration is likely a problem with the tires or suspension. Try to provide some more info.
If you don't feel comfortable trying the above suggestion, please take the vehicle in to an ASE certified suspension and steering professional for further diagnosis.

Finally, I had a similar situation happen to me today. I was riding with a friend in their van and the vehicle started vibrating more and more around 55 mph. We stopped and carefully checked the front tires (including the lug nuts for tightness) but
found a tire defect. (it had several broken steel belts that caused a bulge in the tire and thus the vibration) We changed the tire and the vibration was gone. Good luck to you.

4 wheel drive will not engage in low, light just flashes on switch, will engage in Hi but there is a serious vibration over 40 mph

The vehicle must be in neutral to shift into and out of 4LOW, 4HIGH is not for typical road use, anytime you have "fair" road conditions, the wheels will vibrate in 4wd. Use the AUTO 4wd when on a road that has a solid surface, mostly free of ice, it will only kick in when a wheel slips.
