I suggtes check the position CIG LTR for Cigarette Lighter. The underhood fuse block in the engine compartment on the driver's side of the vehicle near the battery. Lift the cover for access to the fuse/relay block.

To remove fuses, hold the end of the fuse between your thumb and index finger and pull straight out.

Two fuses in under hood fuse box are for two front outlets. Under hood fuse marked "Aux power", " cigar lighter" are the fuses for the front two outlets. The rear power plug fuse is on the left side of the dash under the side access panel with door open, which is aux pwr fuse.

You sound like you are on the right track...Yes, a fuse is part of the safety system the powers your auxillary lighter...You can find the exact location by checking your owners manual...the manual will also provide an illustration, and show the labeling and fuse rating for the lighter...Hope this helps...

SOURCE: 12 Volt Cigarette Lighter / Accessory dead

Most likely just replace it. You could pull the fuse and then use a small screwdriver to try and pull the tabs inside the receiver in toward the center a little. It could be that repeated insertion and extraction of the lighter or accessory plug has bent them outward enough that they're not making sufficient contact to power what you plug in. If that doesn't work, replace it and then put the fuse back in.

SOURCE: how do you replace a fuse for cigarette lighter in 1999 chevy mal

The fuse box for the 99 malibu is right next to the battery, under the hood. It is a 30amp "mini fuse". You can find a chart for which fuse to which circuit, by looking at the lid for the fuse box. This is one of the things I like about the car. If you are using the cigarrette lighter for smoking materials, clean the ashes and residue off the cigarrette lighter (when its cool) with a brass brush, outside the car. Do not let cigarrete material build up in the lighter or it will short.

1998 Toyota Corolla CE. Why the cigarette lighter quit working on it?

Check the fuse. Check the element with a digital voltmeter set to ohms. The wear out because it is just a coiled heating element. Borrow one from another vehicle to test.

My cigarette lighter socket quit working. I have no idea why. I can't figure out which fuse it is

using a test light check for power and ground for the lighter socket. if this is good then then you know the fuse is good. this indicates that you need to replace the cigarette lighter element. the part that gets hot when you want to light a cigarette.

The lighter socket or the element.
Check the element for burn marks and the socket for debris blocking the contacts.

Had cell phone and computer plugged into dual cigarette lighter unit and cigarette lighter overheated and quit working - we checked the fuse - it seems fine.Just want the cigarette lighter socket to work...

More than likely overheated the wiring going to the lighter as well and burned it off. If you pull the lighter socket out you should see if it did. Simply solder it back on and be careful not to overload it again.

1993 Mercury Tracer cigarette lighter

I assume that you tried the cigarette lighter itself and didnt rely solely that the charger was working properly. When you tightened the ring on caseing did you see that the wire connected on the back of the lighter was properly attatched, sometimes a good connection loosens up especially if caseing was found to be loose.. Well assuming it was properly connected you could test the circuit with either a multimeter or 12 volt test light if power is found at connection then you problem is definetly the cigarette lighter assembly itself.. I hope this was helpful...Let me know I would appreciate it

Replace the 15 amp ACC fuse that is in the fusebox under the dash. See if this eliminates your problem.
