No matter what I do my 1994 caprice wont start. Every thing else works find. Can u name afew reasons why. The engine wont even turn over

Yes there are a couple of reasons your car may not turn over. Low battery. Faulty starter motor,( tap the starter on the side with a hammer this will free up a stuck pinion gear) or internal engine damage. Were there any problems prior to it not turning over?

If the oil pump fails, the engine will seize in minutes so it isn't likely the problem. Removing the negative (black) battery terminal first, clean the battery terminals and clamps. You can buy a cheap tool at any auto parts store for this. If, after the battery is reconnected (negative last), it still doesn't consistently start, then the terminals at the starter may need cleaning or the negative cable termination at the other end from the battery.
These points are very sensitive to corrosion and any even small resistance can cause hard starting since the starter draws over 100 Amperes and at only 12 volts, any bad connection can cause a problem.

check your distributor, remove fuel pump to take access, check the high and low resolution wires,

This service can be done with the motor in the car.

Do your switch turn over? You have to have the cover on top of the motor on before it will start!

Have you taken the battery back to have it retested? Sometimes even a new one can be bad. Does this only happen after it sits overnight?

U have 2 seperate problems, the gas gauge issue is caused by a defective sending unit in the gas tank, the cutting out will require u take the car in and have the electronic engine control system tested for trouble codes. Does this car have the 5.7 L engine?

9 out of 10 times you have starter issues eithier your starter is about gone or you need a heat sheild
