Are you loosing coolant fluid? check for leaks around the hoses and in the radiator areas.
I honestly doubt if the water pump needs replacing. it just propels water and coolant to keep the engine circulated unless your ford's water pump is operated electrically and not by the belts that is ganged with the engine. I have a toyota sedan, the water pump is belt driven with the alternator. The only time that it failed on me is when its water seal became history and thus leaking fluid all over. other than that it should have stayed on.
You may want to try draining the radiator just to sample the water/coolant condition.. i'm suspecting a block inside the hoses or worse it could be inside the radiator thats why its not circulating properly.... like a faulty thermostat

There are no signs of leaking around the hoses or anyplace on the radiator. The cooling system overflow tank has no leaks in it or the hose that connects it to the radiator.
