Question about 2005 GMC Envoy Denali

1 Answer

Have a 2005 GMC Envoy Denali. My blower fan for the heater stopped working. Short while later it came on full force, could not regulate the speed. Kept running even after I turned off the engine. Took to the shop and they replaced it with a new relay sensor module?? If thats the correct term. It worked for them. Took off down the road and had the same problem again. The fan went on high speed and could not control it. Called shop back and will have to bring it back in. They mentioned it could be the control head or control box?? What is this and also what price range am I looking at?

My 2006 GMC Envoy heater fan has stopped working. I checked the switch and it is good. I didn't know how to get to motor itself to check it there. Any suggestions?

The blower motor is located behind the glove box. Open the glove box and at the left rear is a wire catch mechanism, push on this and the box will move further down. The motor and blower motor resistor module can be accessed here. Does the blower work on any of the speeds? If yes, then suspect the resistor module. If no, check for a blown fuse or bad motor.

2002 GMC Envoy heater Problem heater fan under dash-shuts off, but still shows full blower off and on.

will try to help but i think you'll need to have that blower replaced. if it's coming on for a sort while and then shuts off after running a short while it sounds to me like the blower motors heating up inside and then shutting itself off due to a short in the blower motor itself. no really quick fix i know of other than replacement of it. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

2005 GMC Envoy XL High Speed Blower not working

if the other speeds work it is probably the blower resistor; if applies varying resistance to the voltage running the blower; this allows the fan to run at different speeds; should be located very close to the blower motor; behind a panel under the passenger side of the dash

A/C and Heater will not blow air..

Blower motor resistor is most common ($20-$70) it controls the blower motor fan and speeds or fan relay fuse (usually under the hood) If it's not either then the blower itself is bad. You can pull the motor and apply 12volts to it to test, if it spins then the resistor.

2005 GMC Envoy SLE blower fan speed #5 is not working

More than likely this should just be your resistor. You have different sized coils on the back of your resistor for all the different fan speeds. if one of them burns out or breaks then that certain speed will not work.
