I suggest testing the IAC (idle air control) valve using the following procedure. If the IAC is stuck fully opened it will cause a high idle.
Excluding 1FZ-FE Engine
1FZ-FE Engine
It can be the sensor problem.
Clean out the idle air control valve and test the following throttle position sensor, coolant temperature sensor and mass airflow sensor.
---------------
The IAC valve is located on the throttle body on the
underside, the throttle body is attached to the air intake chamber and has the
large black rubber hose coming from the air filter, the throttle body has to be
removed, it has four 12mm size bolts and two coolant hoses and one vacuum hose attached
to the IAC valve, there is also a bracket directly behind the throttle body
that is attached with another 12mm bolt. After the throttle body is removed the
IAC valve can then be removed by taking off the 4 Phillips screws, the valve
can be cleaned with some spray intake cleaner available at the auto parts store
and a soft brush to remove the carbon deposits, the inside of the throttle body
should be cleaned at the same time.
----------
This will help. But if this all sensors and valve checked out ok then yes its ECU fault and it has to be replaced. But most probably its dirty IAC valve or faulty sensors any out of this the TPs,the CTS or the MAF.-------------Thanks.Helpmech.
Is the weather colder now ? your automatic choke controls that, it's controlled by the computer. let it run like that for 2 minutes and press on the gas and release it quit to see if the choke disengages, if it's colder, it will take more time to disengage, normal. if it doesn't disengage when the temperature is hot, some testing will be required to determine exactly what is at fault
