Have your ignition timng distributor ever been changed or rotated recently before this problem?
Try setting it back to OEM spec first, mark current location (so in case you need to go back to you can identify its location, I clean the area with a degreaser then blow dry it, after that mark a line across using a Typp-Ex/typing corection fluid).
Second, I would twist it to either direction marking the max on either side the same way as before.
Thirdly measure the distance between both last two marks made, finding its middle.
Button everything up, and take the car for a spin, see if any differencr it makes while keeping an ear for any vale rattling/overlapping when you do a sudden throttle or doing 50 mph.
If it perform better then you timing need to be properly adjusted using a timing light (if you know how) or take to a mechanic/garage to set the timing for best performance if you wish otherwise try to advance/****** distributor until you find the best position.
Good luck
