If it is just oil level sensor not too worry, other wise it sounds like you have low oil pressure most oil pressure sensors turn on lght below about 5-7 psi. its odd to me that light took so long to go out and are you running proper wt oil 10-30 say for your climate? most of the time engines warm-up oil thins a bit and so at low engine speeds, oil light comes on when engine is warm. one other thought was that you say it was running for 5 mins before oil light went out-did it sound bad? ticking or knocking like it really did not have oil pressure? or possibly sensor/gauge problem.

'99 Ford Crown Vic LX: #12 30A Maxi fuse blows seconds after starting or ignition turned on.

i had this problem with my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo with the brake lights it kept popping fuses right after the ignition was turned on try putting a higher amp fuse in place of the old one that keeps blowing then check for shorts to the starter and check grounds and wires and also the transmission issue check the fluid and then if the fluid is fine change the transmission filter the filter may have not gotten replaced when the transmission was rebuilt and may be clogged or dirty

2003 Crown Vic Misfiring after acceleration

I just came up with that exact issue in my 2003 with 98K police crown vic. And the last time I had this issue in a 2001 police Crown vic it was the crank shaft position sensor. A $20 part and about 30 mins to put it in. located near the bottom of the engine. I had to un bolt the A/C compressor and push it out of the way a few inches to get to the sensor. If you have about 100K mile on it and its an idled heavy police car, this sensor should be changed out anyway. It can leave you on the road dead and some dealers have a hard time find out whats wrong as the OBD 2 does not see it as a problem when it goes bad or becomes touchy as I think mine is.

Where is the fuse box for the air/heat of a 2001 crown vic Lx. My heat norair wont come on even when it says it is on its not.

There are actually two fuse boxes, at least on my 01 Vic CVPI. The primary one is under the dash on the driver's side and to the left of the steering column. the second one is under the hood near the battery. Your owner's manual should have a diagram as what fuses control your car's accessories. Hope this helped! Bill
