Get in the car, shut the door, and insert key in ignition.
Turn the key to the RUN position (NOT start, but the position the key is in when the car is running. You DON'T want to start the car).
Turn key off.
Repeat this 10 times quickly (ON, OFF, ON, OFF, etc)
Many alarm systems this is at least one way to reset or over-ride the alarm.
there are tamper switches in this vehicle. trunk lock asm and at all door latches. be sure all power door locks are operating correctly,if not, that not likely is the door to start with. there are also cancel switches in both front doors. if alarm will cancel when using door key in either lock, then they are ok. but sure to inspect trunk tamper switch mounted by /at trunk lock cylinder for "open". is a normally "closed" switch.
Try closing the doors then hook up jumper cables, let it sit for a couple of minutes with cables hooked up and other vehicle running. Then try to use key to turn off alarm before opening door. Then try to start it.
Opening the drivers door with the key is supposed to shut down the factory security but the drivers key cylinder usually goes bad. You will have to unlock the rear tail gate lock cylinder with the key and that will shut down the factory security, before opening the drivers door.Your other option is to have an aftermarket keyless entry system installed, which will open the doors remotely while shut down the factory security at the same time.
when the alarm goes off have you tried locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key sometimes that will turn the alarm off and allow you to start the car
Look under the steering column ,now normally on an after market alarm installation ther should be bunsh on wire tied up with plastic zip-ties --looks like a mess , and in that a mess look for a square relay about 1" sq. Unplug that. That will isolate the alarm system.Good Luck
the "THEFT" light should always be flashing tells you its working, i have a 93 deville does the same thing, but if the alarm sounds alot make sure you dont open the doors with the handle or the unlock arm if the doors are locked only use the key or the button on the remote or buttons on the car door and if the alarm still goes off you might have an electrical problem
Do you have the remote? use it or replace the key.
