this could be a problem with engine managment you can get it pluged in to a diagnostic tool and they will give a fault code these can be purchesed from well known aution sites for 30 pounds
If you don't have a check engine light, Start with the air and fuel filter, work your way up to a tune up. Clean the throttle body as best you can on the inside, behind the throttle plate/s
Hi, you need to firstly replace the fuel filter, the problem is the idle solenoid in the pump has dirt in the piston! From the passenger side of the engine remove the solenoid at the back of the fuel pump 2x 5mm Alan bolts, there is 2 solenoids in the pump the one closest to the block is fuel temp. After the idle solenoid is removed, in the solenoid is a piston held in place by a circlip and there is also a spring in there, clean out all dirt inside and reassemble replace both o'rings and reinstall your problem will be solved. I have just fixed one 2 days ago.
It could be the throttle body gasket. The gasket gets old and hard and will leak between the throttle body and intake manifold. Also check for vacuum lines that are broken or split.
so your saying when it is ideling after you start it, it struggles to stay running, if so you may just need a minor tweak on the throttle body theres a little mechanism that the throttle cable attaches to, this is the thing that opens the butterfly valve which lets more air into your engine which is how you accelerate on that little mechanism is an adjustment screw that heightens or lowers your revs when its ideling start your car and adjust the screw till your engine runs and sounds right
