98 Town Car, how do I change dash lights, (fuel gauge bulb)

you have to take out nearly everything on the dash to get behind there. odds are its a diode and the board may need to be replaced.

does the battery light on dash meter light up when you turn the key to on. if the light does not come on it means most probably the bulb in burnt. so replace the bulb

If you are talking backing lights for the instruments then I would go to a service dealer spares to get this as many manufacturers only use one bulb and the lights are from glass filaments reflection on to the face of the gauge

no, look on positive battery cable there is a fuse holder or fusible link that is bad

generally,you can reach up behind the dash to twist out the bulb /holder,, or the dash cluster w/all gauges can be removed from the front to change bulbs... kev-mn.

you have one or two bulbs burnt out that can be changed with the dash face removed generally possibly from behind

Go to Autozone and purchase a Clymer repair manuel. It will show how to remove the dash. You need to find all the screws.
