Hello! There is an error in the repair manual as to whether the vehicle is equipped with Automatic A/C or manual...If your vehicle has Automatic A/C there isn't a blower motor assembly...Instead, the defective component is the Blower Control Module...See picture below of the blower motor resistor located behind the passenger hush panel...this is for a vehicle with Manual A/C...
The Blower Motor Control Module is mounted to the HVAC module with a connector having the following wire colors...Red...Purple/White...Black...Two other wires are...Purple And Black
Cost is around $135.....................sorry for the confusion...Saailer
Hello! Here is a photo of a Blower Motor Control Module...Saailer

With the glove box out, the bottom cowling off and the side entry off I can find no such device. The entire fan unit is there Delphi-Delco 15826950. But unless the module is inside the fan unit, I do not see it? I notice my message above also has something added about a 2005 envoy XL. I wanted to make sure you were referring to a 2008 Envoy Denali. thank you.. larry
Thank you for all your work. That was the item I removed when you first wrote. But when I took it off it did not look like the picture so I reinstalled it. I have removed it again. It has the Red...Purple/White...Black wire, and the Purple and Black go to the fan. However, having removed it, it still does not like like the picture. It is Carter Group 52416100. When I run it through google, I get AC Delco 15-80906 Control Module Kit (pictured below). It is identified for the 2008 Envoy as HTR & BLO & A/C CONT - A/C FRT AUTO/AUX CONT. So I am assuming this is the item you want me to replace?
The vehicle is about 3 months out of warranty. The web site tells me that the model number you gave me, 15-80863 is not for the 2008 Envoy. I was wondering if it was the replacement module but it doesn't seem so. I am also wondering if I buy the 15-80906 module identified for my vehicle, if it has been updated or if I will still have the same problems?
Again, thank you for all the research you have done.. larry
"Saailer" was right on the mark. The descriptions, locations.. etc...made this an extremely easy repair that I know would have been several hundreds of dollars if I had taken it in. My many thanks to "Saailer", and thanks "lledsled" for the confirmation..
