Your leak could be the result of a missing oil filter gasket or an improperly sealed oil filter gasket. Remove and inspect. either way, the fix should be easy.

All oil filters have gaskets and can leak.
Change the filter and wipe the seat on the block clean with a rag.
Lubricate the gasket on the new filter with a drop or 2 of CLEAn motor oil and install it hand tight only.

If the filter that was installed previously was installed too tightly (common), the gasket form that old filter may not have come off when the old filter was removed-so, the new filter was installed OVER this old gasket, causing your leak-it happens more often than you'd think. Remove the new filter and check to see if the old rubber gasket stuck to the machined surface of the engine, and remove it. Probably a good idea to install a new filter, and remember to put a light coating of oil on the base of the new filter.

Can anyone help i have a 98 range rover 4ltr leaking oil from the oil filter seal or houseing it's hard to tell but have tryed 2 new filters and have looked at the houseing it looks fine but stil

Either the oil leak isn't from the filter seal and is somewhere nearby or the oil pressure is unnaturally high, perhaps because the oil pressure relief valve is stuck closed.

My 1998 trailblazer has started leaking oil from filter area. what do I need to address first. engine was recently replaced.

Assume this is a 4.3-first, make sure the filter is on tight (it happens)-not knowing how bad the leak is, I would check to see if the oil pressure sender unit is there (that is usually close to where they locate them, and they do leak). If it seems to be coming from where the filter is spun onto the block, remove the filter and make sure the old gasket from the last filter did not get stuck onto the block, then the new filter got installed over top of it (it happens too). If these do not pan out, the oil filter adapter (housing that holds the oil filter) may need to be removed and the gasket replaced.

Oil and Coolant leak of about 11/2 quarts coolant - 1/2 quart oil per night Leak 1 (Coolant) Appears to be coming from the radiator bottom right corner. Leak 2 (oil) Appears to be coming from the engine...

The passenger right side of the car doesn't have any flanges for cooling system, if that's correct then your radiator has a leak or puncture.

The driver side of vehicle has both the in and out flanges for the radiator. Very common to see leak at the drain valve leaking (not closed tightly). In the same area would be bottom flange of radiator which the composite flange is degrading and causing the leak.

The middle part of the bottom engine compartment is where your oil/coolant cooler assembly just above the oil filter. A loose oil filter could be the cause 95% of the time and 5% would be a bad o-ring from the oil cooler to the oil filter flange.

OIL LEAK COMING CLOSE TO THE OIL FILTER

if you had recently done or had an oil change done sometimes the gasket from the old oil filter sticks to the block. when you install the new oil filter it ends up with 2 gaskets and leaks around the base where filter meets oil cooler. another posability is the oil pressure sending unit is mounted just above the filter.
