1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Logo
Anonymous Posted on Feb 05, 2011

I have a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic that will not start. The Pass Key II light blinks continuously. There is not even an attempt for the engine to start. I have two keys and neither of them will start the car. Both keys are clean. Is there a way to bypass this system in order for me to start the car? Is there something else that is creating this problem besides the Pass Key system?

Check the three ground wires on top of engine..........theyre all together on one bolt.........a terminal might have broken on the end of one of the wires

The pass key fault light is on and my car wont start

Mine did the same thing. I had to replace the ignition switch and haven't had a problem since. The inside wears out and don't make a conection to the chip in your key.

Massage, pass key fault

there is a micro chip inside the head of the igntion key, when you put the key in the igntion the sensor inside the steering colunm will read the resistance of the micro-chip. If there is a match the engine will start. If for some reason the sensor will not read the micro chip the system will think some is stealing the car. I would try another key 1st, if this persist, the module will need to be replaced. Start with a new key, its cheaper.
You'll need to go a GM store parts departement with the old key, drivers license & registration for the dealer to cut a new key.

Pass key fault on 94 caprice

NO, check oil pressure module. Bad module (red ligh of check engine on) or a bad cable can interrupt the fuel pump voltage. This is a security to device to induce car to turn off when the oil pressure drop near 0. and to protect the wholee engine
