2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
Whinning noise when car starts up, goes away once it's warm. Have had car serviced (not at a dealer),including power steering fluid replacement. Noise continues. Can anyone help?
Van has 67000 miles. Makes a very loud whinning noise when the engine is cold. Not as much noise after a 5 minute warm up.

Hi there, I have seen it once before when the transmission oil was really old, try a service on your transmission first, it's a filter change and new oil, hope this helps
why on earth would you need a new tcm on a 2005! you need to take your car to a dealer ,if there is a problem with the tcm they can reflash it ,your throwing your money and time away looking for all that other ****
HI" does this noise go away when you step on the clutch pedal and does this noise gets louder as you go faster, try turning the steering wheel a little see if noise goes away that would indicate bad wheel bearing
check to see if the serpantine belt is still there. It sounds like like it broke. this belt runs all of the accesories on the vehicle including the water pump. So if this happened it probably starting running hot too
