if you replaced alternator 3 times , have you had your battery tested ? if battery is bad usually that will cause alternator to keep going bad . try having battery tested . might just need a battery
CHECK ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT COULD BE LOOSE NEED ADJUSTING OR GLAZED NEED REPLACING. IF ALL IS GOOD, CHECK ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE OUT PUT AT BATTERY SHOULD BE 13.5 - 14.5 VOLTS. IF NOT ALTERNATOR FAULTY BUT CHECK ALTERNATOR BATTERY FEED AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR WIRES FOR LOOSE CONNECTION OR DAMAGED FRAYED WIRES. CHECK ALTERNATOR FUSE.CHECK THOSE THINGS BEFORE BUYING NEW ALTERNATOR.FIRST TURN OFF RADIO BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY CABLE TO KEEP FROM LOCKING OUT RADIO.
Check system for shorts. I have a 02 Sport that I am on my 6th alternator since last November, 2010. The last time, my car broke down outside of Natchez and I had a shade tree mechanic work on the car. He found several corroded & frayed ground wire connections. I don't know if this will solve my problem, but it's probably worth the check.
In this model always has that problem because it
usually falls cap oil valves and dana you the alternator is a common
problem on these trucks ... Thanks
How new is the battery? Is it a maintance Free? It sounds like it needs to be replaced. Take your vehicle into your local Autozone and they will test your battery and charging system for free.
Did they test the output only, 13.5 to 14v if it was all that was tested there are two other possibilitys that the alternator needs testing for Voltage regulation which will fry a battery (over charge and cells collapse)or the diodes have failed which will flatten a battery overnight.
i actually didn't have mine locked but if you figure that out you will need to have your vin # as well as the radio serial and part # handy call 1888mitsu2008 they will give you your code free of charge this i know first hand
