The first thing you want to do is to siphon as much fuel as possible to get rid of some of the extra weight. Then disconnect the negative cable from the battery.Diconnect the hoses from the fill tube and the vent tube from the tank.Remove any hoses visible on the outside of the tank and lable if necessary. On some models they have a sid plate that covers the tank, if so remove the skid plate supporting the tank. Now you want to disconnect the electrical connectors and fuel lines. Some have an access panel under the rear seat.If there is no access panel then there are 2 bands that hold the tank in place loosen the straps but don't drop the tank until you find the connector and fuel lines.Lower the tank supporting the tank preventing it from completely falling enough to gain access to the fittings and connector.A tool is going to have to be used to remove the fuel lines. These are very inexpensive at your local auto parts store.Once disconnected then lower the tank slowly so that if if gets hung up letting it down nothing gets broke. If there is an evap canister mounted to the tank this will also have to be removed.Hope this helps you out.
