we dont have Jackaroo here in USA. sorry! we are USA forum no Holden's here, ever) you in Australia? NO actual V6 stated, which one of the 3? size v6 and , cam count per head, and fueling system there. NO photo of engine posted, and bam , there it is and fueling parts, all clear as DAY to me. it's a no start. the fuel feed line goes to the pump, why not just look at this line see where it goes? no? cam belt fresh, spark plugs fresh? fuses good,
most are in the tank, but not so on all carb engines sold world wide.
lacking what engine is there, and what fueling system , why post to USA forum >? all you will get is, wild guessing. wrong answers. and OFF TRACK . or like I do, generic MR. OTTO CYCLE Gas engine answers (pure physics) if all want is wild guessing, you are on the perfect forum for that.
why not use 0Z forums after all only they have HOLDENS (this type)
drain your carburettor from the site check your spark plugs and wash it with petrol start the engine rev 5 to 6 times and memorise the result of it,remove air filter and spray carburettor with engine start and rev the engine up to 3000 rpm or more if you have results at last your problem lies with fuel pressure and quality petrol super with fuel injection cleaner is going to help .you.
Are you sure you ran out of petrol? It might be that the petrol pump or something else had died. The only way to tell is to undo the fuel line from the carb and turn it over, check if it pumps fuel (have someone help you with this.) You might also find that you've got a blockage in your fuel filter, caused maybe by **** left floating at the top of the tank that was sucked in when you ran out of petrol. Check the filter first and see if it's OK, then check if fuel is flowing. Also, on a 97 Alfa, I'd imagine it was fuel injected though I could be wrong. If it is then you'll want to be more careful wit the fuel line.
I do not think the fuel filter is the problem, but to renew it, you will find it located below the car, just in front, and in from the L/H rear wheel.
It is easy to replace, and you can undo the connections, and release the fixing cover, and slide it out.
Have you checked your petrol filler cap drain tube for blockage, and your petrol cap sealing rubber for splits ?
This is the usual way water gets in the fuel system.
I suspect possibly, you have a problem with your crank sensor, they do give lots of problems, and would tie in with your problem.
Give me some feed back as to what you think.
Good Luck !
P.S.Don´t forget to give me a FixYa rating, Please !
