My 2003 lincoln will not rise. i can hear air leaking for the T-union where the air lines connects. i also hear air leaking from the rear drivers side wheel. i also hear a clucking noise coming from the rear drivers side wheel. i have been told is the shock/strut which is bad. is the air suppose to leak from the union? there is a small round part of the union that comes out and goes back in and when i touch it i hear more or less air seeping out. can someone help me. oh, one more thing, does the air indipendently fill up all 4 airbags because the 2 rear bags are full and the front 2 are not. how does that [email protected]. please respond. tahnks

There should never be a leak in the system at all when the car starts the compressor should run once about 5 to 15 second to check for leaks
if longer than that you are headed for bigger problems

If they fill up when the car is running you're ok. If they stay low all the time, have them checked.

SOURCE: replaced front bags with shocks and the rear bags will not fill

It sounds to me like you have a hole or cracks in your airbag. The dealership typically diagnoses it as the compressor but that is only to keep you coming back and wasting more money on something that will never truly be fixed. The airbag is the problem now but the compressor has to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. Therefor the airbag will kill the compressor. I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. This is a PERMANENT fix. I added the link below so you can check it out.

I hope I was of some help

Good Luck!!!

2008 navigator, which has had a slow leak for a while...back would be low if it sat unused for more than a day. It would air up and then be ok and hold. Last week, started not holding air.

System AIR LEAKS should be pretty easy to find.

Air bag pump is running, new airbags . rear bags wont air up.

These Lincoln air suspensions are terrible. I have converted many over to coil springs at a fraction of the cost of replacing/repairing the bags. If the rear bags don't inflate, there is a broken air line to the bags or the bags are leaking

Air popping sound above motor for 2003 Lincoln town car

Check the vacuum lines. Spray all the vacuum lines , connections, intake manifold areas carb cleaner with the engine running. The idea is that where the vacuum leak is, the engine vacuum will inhale the starting fluid into the engine and you will hear a definite change in engine RPM. Its a cheap and easy way to find a vacuum leak.

1999 lincoln navigator air suspension leaks down after rising up

You may have a crack in a line somewhere. You hear it cycling while driving because the height sensor is telling it to lift because it's loosing air somewhere. I'd replace those o-rings first.

Air suspension won't rise

Do you hear the compressor coming on when you start the truck or a few minutes into your ride? If so, you can rule out the compressor.

Could be ride height sensors, air spring bag leaks, or a leak in the air line(s). The dealership will ROB YOU BLIND if you let them.

See if a local mechanic will detatch and clean those sensors. Sometimes they'll corrode from time and weather.

If your air spring bags are bad, just google the part and you'll find the part for around $200. Have a mechanic also check the SEALS at the top of the air spring bag. Sometimes they expand and shrink with the weather and the air escapes from the bag, causing it not to inflate as it should or not at all. It's a really cheap fix if it's only the seals.

Any mechanic can test your air lines for leaks with regular soapy water. If you have leaks, the lines are easy to replace and not expensive.

Hope this helps.

Rear air suspension isnt working.

IF YOU HEAR COMPRESSOR TURNING ON THATS GOOD. THE MOSE COMMON PROBLEM IS BEHIND BATTERY THERE IS A PLASTIC LINE WITH A UNION TO CONNECT THEM,THE UNION BREAKS AND BAGS WILL NOT INFLATE IN REAR. YOU CAN GET UNION AT A DEALERSHIP AND SIMPLE TO INSTALL THE LINES BACK TOGETHER,MAYBE ALSO A LEAK AT THE BAGS IF IT INFLATES AND SINKS AFTER SITTING A WHILE. WITHOUT MORE INFO THATS WHAT I HAVE TO OFFER.
