The maximum pressure will depend on the ply rating of the tyre and the working pressure will depend on the application.
A 4 ply tyre has a maximum pressure of around 32 psi and an 8 ply tyre about 65 psi. For many years this essential safety information has been moulded into the sidewalls.
There are three measurements for tires.
1. Maximum pressure 51 psi
2. Recommended pressure 40 psi
3. Vehicle rated pressure. Depends on the make and model.
The vehicle pressure is dependant on the load you are hauling. There is a sticker on the center post of the drivers door that will list this.
Here is the information you requested
40.5-47.0 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) Application: Key on engine off 30.5-44.0 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) Application: Key on engine running Don't forget to rate this post!!
Should be 30psi.There should be a placard in the driverside door jam that psi should be printed on.Always best to comply with manufacturer recommendation versus what is printed on the tire as a maximum pressure.
The psi rating will be on the sidewall of each tire. There is a cold psi maximum and a hot psi maximum. Try driving the car for a while and then check the pressure and compare them to the hot psi rating. Then you can add or release some air if you need to. There should also be a sticker located either on the driver or passenger door. open the door and look along inside rear of the door and on the inside on the body. sometimes they may also be at the bottom of the glove box.
This are rice tires. The pressure depends on what you want to get from your tires.
Ideal pressure for races range from about 5 PSI below maximum pressure to a value near to maximum pressure.
A good value for racing will start at about 45 PSI, up to 50 PSI.
Keeping the tires at race pressure (use 45/46, not 50) will give you good performance, but driving will be quite harsh.
For a good performance on everyday driving you can keep the tyres at 35 to 38 PSI, depending on terrain.
