Typically this may due to low brake fluid or the parking brake not disengaged completely. If you do find the your brake fluid level is low you may want to have your brakes inspected as this may be an indication that your brakes are worn and may need replaced.

I own a 2003 mazda tribute. The oil light stays on but the car does not need oil

Usually the oil warning light means the engine oil pressure is low, or the sending unit has failed.

Brake light is on ...2001 tribute

check fluid level in the master cylinder under the hood may be empty and need bled out entirely..meaning air is now in the system and needs removed..DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION!!!its too dangerous..if the car wont stop it can kill you..the brakes can be systematically bled out by someone who knows the setup or get the car towed to your mechanic and let them do it..use DOT-3 brakefluid only..available at most stores...also look for leaks anywhere by each wheel..may have other issues..broken lines, leaking wheel cylinders etc...repost findings please..

ABS light on, flashing 4wd 2005 Mazda Tribute

Even though your anit-lock brake system light comes on, dosen't mean your brakes will not work. All the ABS does, when applying the breaks, it compensates breaking power like pulsating your pads off and on the rotor in which without ABS your doing the same thing manually by pressing n releasing the brake pedal. And usually half the time it's a sensor that goes out and can be checked at your local autozone or auto parts store where they can plug into your car and will display a code that pertains to your ABS problem. Hope this helps.

ABS light on in my 2005 Mazda Tribute. Just had an oil change and tire rotated. Also steam cleaned the engine yesterday. The brake fluid is low. I will try filling that.

You do not steam clean any engines from
1985 on, or you will have problems with water
intruding electical connectors & more

Brake fluid won't be low
As the pads wear & caliper piston moves out,
fluid level goes down, not an issue

The ABS light you should already know is a Vehicle
System Malfunction & we have had those or similar
lights on the dash of all vehilces for 30 years
So nothing new at all. Check for codes, diagnose &
have the ABS Braking System repaired

I have a Mazxda Tribute. h check brake light often is on. It comes & goes-but, usually, stays on. Could this be something that I could fix myself ? Could it just be a fuse

definitely not a fuse, the first thing to check would be the brake fluid level in the resivoir, look on the inside of the tires for fluid, which would obviously mean a leaking hose or caliper, you didnt mention the last time you changed the brake pads, could be time for new pads, if your not losing any fluid, the brake pedal does'nt feel unordinary, and there is'nt any grinding or squealing sounds i would'nt suspect a problem, maybe a bad brake light indicator, i know it can be nerve racking to see a warning light, but if no lose of fluid or noises, drive on

Mazda 6 2001, IBS and handbrake warning lights keeps coming on

Check brake fluid level.  If fluid level is low, it can cause lights to flicker on and off while driving.
