Headlights go on and off while driving on their own

Nothing wrong with that, headlights on make for a safer drive, most cars will not drive with headlights off anymore.

replace the head light switch

Check the fuse for the headlights. There is also a relay for the lights. Wiggle the headlight switch.

headlights dont move and if you are talking the switch inside i suggest you get a left hand drive wire harness.

if both headlights went out at the same time, check your fuses. because high beams use more power than headlights, they are often on a separate fuse. if fuses are fine, replace the headlights.

LET DEALERSHIP OR GARAGE FIX IT.BECAUSE THEY HAVE EQUIPMENT TO ADJUST THE HEADLIGHTS.IF YOU TRY ADJUSTING THEM WITH OUT EQUIPMENT.YOUR HEADLIGHTS WILL BLIND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE OPPOSITE LANE.

Though your car seems fine without using the headlights, you have a charging problem, and need to get a couple things checked out. First make sure your battery connections are clean and tight. Your alternator belt should also be checked to make sure it is serviceable and properly tightened too. Your alternator should be checked under load, and lastly, your battery too. Most auto parts stores, such as auto zone,will check your parts for free,so you should only be spending money on what is broken!

its the multi function switch at the steering column ,it is your directional and light switch combined

can i just alter my headlight on my z3, by the adjusters on the back of the headlights. i want to switch from right hand beam to left in france,

check the headlight switch for burned contacts or a heat dis-colored connector to it. If u find either replace the headlight switch and the connector as a pair.
