I bought my '98 Accord from a private person so I don't know anything about the alarm system. The alarm is supposed to be "partially" disconnected. ..However, if the battery gets disconected and connected back the alarm goes off. ..This time I came back to find that the lights were blinking but no sound at all and the car won't start. ...I don't have access to the button that will reset the alarm, because my driver side door is stuck and I haven't found any one who can fix and open that door. ..So the blinking continued until the battery died ...HOW do I disconnect the alarm from under the hood, so that it will not longer affect the starting system or the battery once I recharge it again? ..Thank you

the alarm is the fault refer to your alarm manual to disable it, if you don't know about this unit it is best to seek help from someone qualified and available to look at it for you, it seems as if your alarm is set, most alarms have a starter disable function and the alarm going off is an indication that it is set.
If you don't have the remote then its pretty much useless. I have seen at Pep Boys where they sell replacements for the factory/dealer installed alarms. Or just remove the alarm completely and reconnect everything the way it was.
Without knowing what brand alarm it is a person cannot honestly answer how to disarm it as they all work differently.
If you know a brand and model you may be able to find downloadable instruction on the manufactures web site.
If your car came with the Prestige Alarm unit, there is a possibility that the alarm box got deprogrammed or burned, and left the anti-theft activated. Use the Valet Switch to deactivate the alarm permanently, and see if the car starts. For some reason unknown to me, it takes a couple of cycles of crank/ take the ignition switch off, crank again for the Valet Switch to work. In my 98 Accord, this micro-switch is installed in the left front kicker panel, but there is no guarantee that it will be in the same place in you accord, since it is a dealer installed option
Even though the motor partially works, the other part of the circuit inside the motor may have failed. Try replacing the motor, unless you have the skill to trouble shoot the entire system first to verify the motor as the problem.
Look under dash above brake pedal......it should be mounted there. Or in some rare cases can be taped into wire harness .....not on lower edge of dash.
there is a sensor inside the door most likely has been broken and needs to be replaced. i had same problem. it's like $50 or something and you can do it yourself
As with most vehicle theft systems they have a life expectancy and the control unit may not be working correctly but try hooking the ground to a better stripped location. I usually find an area on the frame and sand off the paint then use a self tapping screw and reground it then try it if not purchase another aftermarket system and have it installed professionally most aftermarket systems are better anyways and last longer plus they come with warranty. Heres a good site to buy one at wholesale. http://godspeedaudioheaven.wholesaleaudio.net/
