My turbo on my f250 is using more power going down a flat streatch of road and even more going up a hill or slight incline. What would cause the increase of power to the turbo.

Your turbo is using more power??? Do you mean it is giving more boost? The turbo runs off of exhaust gasses. It doesn't use any "engine" power to operate. Any engine operation that will cause more exhaust gasses will make the turbo spin faster and provide more boost.

mine doesnt pullall the way up a hill...stops pulling like you hit a switch and turned it off and chech engine light comes on and trans downshifts what might cause this

OK, that sounds much different. Do you have a "Boost" gauge that is going way up while your engine is losing power and bogging down? This could be due to a restricted exhaust. Otherwise, the only advise I know to give you is to start by scanning the Engine control computer to see why it is turning the light on. You may have a problem with a waste gate or something. The computer should give you some kind of idea what is going on.

IT COULD BE FROM USING THE 4WD! TAKES MORE POWER TO RUN 4WD THAN 2WD! THAT WOULD CAUSE AN INCREASE IN TURBO POWER

Hi my 02 avensis verso totally loses power when hot going up a hill or incline..really embarrising...cleaned ecg valve any other ideas

Hi,
The air filter can sometimes be a good place to start, as a slightly blocked/dirty/damaged one can give the car near normal operation on flat roads but when going uphill make it slow right down.

would suggest you try that first. If that doesn't work it could be a faulty/blocked fuel filter or dodgy turbo or slipping clutch or air/fuel mix issue (faulty sensor).

No power when going up hill

1. Low air presure from turbo to fuel pump or
2. Waste gate at turbo does not open or
3. Dirty air filter.

Have you checked the PCV system?? If its stuck in the closed position then you will lack power and turbo boost. A vehicle needs 3 things to make it run proper; FUEL,FIRE and AIR. Try that and see if it helps.

I have a toyota 1994 hiace van, automatic transmission. it becomes slow even on a slight hill road and i need to accelerate more, is it normal or is there any problem with it? all the gears are well c

Typical of a heavy van that is underpowered. I hear review after review about how weak this thing is going up inclines. I do hear that the motor is virtually bulletproof tho. Enjoy your van, don't expect to fly up hills, but expect to get over 500,000 miles on your motor if you do only the minimium maintence.

Losing power in accelation

Fuel filter is probably clogging up (it's common), which restricts fuel flow and makes it hard to make the needed power for acceleration or other high-load situations like climbing hills. Change it and you'll probably be fine.

TRANS SLIPPING .GOING 45 UPHILL .LACKING POWER WHEN ACCEL.

sounds like turbo issues, i would check that first. when the turbo fails, Cold air cooler pipe slips off or leaking a leaking cold air cooler it causes low power, limited speed going up hill and the transmission to do funny things. are there any codes stored in the pcm?

Car looses power up a hill

How slight was the hill and how much weight did you have in your car? When you got power back was it because you were no longer on the hill or were you going downhill?
You may just need to drop down a gear to get the power back, if you have a heavy car even slight hills can cause it to lose power especially if your in top gear. You have a "sports transmission" option (I'm pretty sure it's on all the DSG transmissions) you just need to move it across to the +/- bit and move the stick to the - to go down a gear. Otherwise you'd have to wait until your auto decides it's lost enough revs to go down a gear. Which is why I hate autos.
Otherwise it could be bad fuel or something wrong with the turbo.
