My overdrive light is flashing on my 2005 crown vic,i can only get to about 45-55 mph.

If your overdrive light is flashing, it is trying to tell you that there is a transmission failure. You will have to scan your powertrain control module to find out what is wrong.

I have ?nd it says solenoid switch. But I really don't know because I remove the old engine and replaced it with a 05 p71 engine. In a 03. So the trans is for a 2003. I think I need a 5w.

was the computer for that exact year and model ? computers have to be matched to that same model to run the same transmission as in the vehicle example 1999 ford crown vic trans.put in a 2000 crown vic even though the trans. is the same the ccomputer reads trans. is built for 1999 cause of the program in the comp.

Engine cuts out , does not throw a code

I also have a 2001 Crown Vic that developed a problem similar to this. It would lope and buck at around 40-45 MPH. I too changed the plugs, then changed the coil boots. It still missed. So I bought 1ea. new coil. After changing the new coil with three old ones, the missing stopped.
