5.2 l i/2 ton lwb reg cab...I need to know if there is an external fuel pump and where it as well as the fuel filter are located. The truck will not start unless i put fuel in the throttle body and only runs on that fuel momentarily

  • jesterscourt Feb 22, 2011

fuel in tank was not treated and I think it sat for about a year before being run. It ran and even had fuel added. I'm wondering if it is the filter clogged? have had all plugs changed and wires replaced. It ran well but then set up for 3 months now won't start unless fuel through threottle body but will not prime from tank. How do you verify before removing tank?

There is no external feul pump, it is in the feul tank. Also there is no external feul filter, it is in the tank at the bottom of the feul pump assembly.I owned one of these trucks and was not pleased by the location of the feul filter either. If you can find a CARTER supplier they make a cheaper replacment that is same quality as oem.Good luck!

Ethanol feul tends to gum up when it sits for a long time, but you may be able to save the pump.I have done this and had it work.Pour two bottles of SEA FOAM feul treatment and 5 gallons of fresh feul into tank and let it be for 24 hours. This will most of the time desolve the varnish and allow the feul to flow.Good luck!

Location of fuel filter and how to change fuel filter on 2000 dodge dakota quad cab

there is no serviceable fuel filter. It is part of the fuel pump assembly and serviced when you change the pump.

In the US, all vehicles have a sticker attached to the driver door post (some on the driver door) of inflation levels. Sorry I don't know the exact pressure, but hopefully you will find that info there.

I'm looking for the fuel filter to replace on 2004 GMC Sierra 3/4 ton 2500HD 6 L truck.

If you have one, it's located under the drivers side of the cab on the inner rail part of the frame.<p>
Now some of these do not have one. Call the dealer. He'll need your VIN number. Some came without a fuel filter.

Where is the fuel filter?

I don't know about a 2wd,(mine is a 4 wd-extended cab) but, I just purchased an IN LINE FUEL filter from O'Reilly's Auto Parts. (02-01-2009 last night) The parts agent crawled under my truc and pointed out that the fuel filter was located uner the cab, attached to the drivers side frame, nearest to the back of the cab.
I might add, I had just checked with Advance Store Auto Parts, and the salesman there told me that there was not an external in line fuel filter, and I would have to get a complete fuel tank pump, filter screen assembly, from the chevrolet dealer.
I purchased a "WIX" in line filter and will put it on this p.m.
Hope this helps

7.3 stalled after getting fuel

Sounds like your station got a little low on fuel and their transfer pump blew out their filter element (in the pump). So you ended up with the crud. Recommend you get about 3 new filters and be ready to swap them out when your truck dies. On the legal side, unless the station manager is really nice the best you can hope for is a new tank full. Show him/her the filter! Maybe he'll be happy you let him know he needs to do filters on his pumps.

Need to locate fuel filter

I want to say its located on the drivers side frame. Best thing to do is buy a Chilton's or Haynes manual for your Bronco. It has tons of info on how to do stuff to your Bronco. Might be your fuel pump. That's located in the fuel tank.
