Hi, my name is John I will do my best to assist you.

You stated then after stopping, when take off it hesitates. Do you mean the engine hesitates, or that the transmission hesitates? Based on what youv'e told me so far here are my initial suggestions.

  1. Ensure that the transmission is filled to the proper fluid level.
  2. Consider draining the transmission fluid, replacing the fluid filter, and refilling with fresh fluid. Also while the pan is removed you can adjust the Low and Reverse band. See the procedures below. If the band is out of adjustment this may explain why reverse gear doesn't engage.
DRAIN AND REFILL & BAND ADJUSTMENT
  1. Raise the front of the truck and support it on jackstands. Place a large drain pan under the transmission.
  2. Unbolt and remove the exhaust system downpipe if it interferes with the pan removal.
  3. Loosen the pan attaching bolts and tap the pan at one corner to break it loose.
  4. Allow the fluid to drain into the drain pan.
  5. After most of the fluid has drained, carefully remove the attaching bolts, lower the pan and drain the rest of the fluid.
  6. Remove the filter attaching screws and remove the filter.
  • Use an inch lb. torque wrench to adjust the front band on the A-500 transmission.
  • Loosen the band adjusting screw locknut and back it off about five turns. Be sure that the adjusting screw turns freely in the lever.
  • Tighten the adjusting screw to 72 inch lbs. (8 Nm).
  • Back off the adjusting screw as follows:
    • A727 & A518: 2 turns
    • A998 & A999: 4 turns
    • A-500: 4 turns
    • 42RH: 4 turns
    • 46RH: 2 turns
    • 47RH: 3 turns
  • Keep the adjusting screw from turning, tighten and tighten the locknut to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).

  1. Install a new filter. Tighten the screws to 35 inch lbs. (4 Nm).
  2. Thoroughly clean the fluid pan with safe solvent and allow it to dry.
  3. Using a new gasket, install the pan to the transmission. Tighten the attaching bolts to 150 inch lbs. (17 Nm).
  4. Pour 4 quarts of DEXRON® III automatic transmission fluid in through the dipstick tube.
  5. Lower the vehicle, start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. With the parking brake set, slowly move the gear selector to each position. Return it to the Neutral position.
  6. Check the fluid level. Add more fluid as necessary to bring it up to the "ADD ONE PINT'' level.
  7. Drive the truck to bring the fluid up to normal operating temperature. Check the level again. It should be between the "Add'' and "Full'' marks.

I have a 2012 dodge ram with the 6.7 cummins it runs fine on a full tank of fuel, but once it get down to a 1/4 tank it loses power hesitates and runs bad . Scanner says low fuel rail pressure. Any ideas...

Had the same problem on my Ram. Ram has two fuel pumps, there is a small booster pump up front mounted to the filter housing. The front pump is small and is prone to failure I was told especially if you had a cold spell and your fuel gelled a little. That is what happened to mine, replaced it and ran like new again.

I once had a 302 ford van that ran really bad going up a hill and I thought the transmission was dying. Turned out that my catylitic converter had broken apart and clogged so the truck wasn't exhausting at all. This will make a vehicle hard start and run bad, so make sure you feel the exhaust for pressure. Seems silly, I know but I've been there.

03 dodge ram 1500 hesitates and tries to stall when in drive at stop sign or light. The tachometer fluctuates up then down hesitates then stalls.

Remove IAC (idle speed control) motor, clean with throttlebody spray cleaner & the port (hole)it came out of. Re-install & try it. If it cures it for a while & does it again, replace the IAC motor.

My running light on my 1995 dodge ram stopped working and i have changed the fuses

have checked for power at the fuse? if not you can use a multi-meter and then take the leads and test if you have power at the runinng light fuse. if no power there then you have a wiring problem. then i would check power at each light so you know about where the bad wire or wires are going to be.
