There are no diagrams of that that I know of //// oil is pumped into the engine and travels through the engine block to lubricate the cam and timing chain/s OHV OVERHEAD VALVES nto the valve lifters then up through the push rods into the cylinder heads to lubricate and cool the valve springs and the cam/s if Daul overhead cam THERE'S 2 AND 2 CHAINS THAT'S HOW THEY WORK WHAT IS THE PROBLEM IF ANY THAT YOUR HAVING?
Pretty sure it has a timing belt and you should replace it at around 60,000 miles they are designed to last a lot longer but to be safe replace every 60,000 as well as the water pump and idler bearings
Exhaust camshaft gear and Intake gears have dots on them, chain has colored links. Align colored links to dots or count 14 links from ex cam dot to intake dot. Make sure that the mark on the cambelt side is set first on ex side. Small hole on ex cam gear (cambelt) side to line up with mark on head.
I have a Colt 2005 Z30 1.1. I went to the shop asking for a shift of timing belt. I was happily surprised when the guy said that it had a timing chain instead of a belt and did not need to be changed. (I do not know how long does the chain holds, but definitely at least twice as long as the belt)
Most multi-valve engines suffer damage when a cam belt snaps I am afraid to say..however about 1 in 100 don't so I hope yours is the 100th. Good luck.
On NO account attempt to crank the engine or further damage will occur.
i an presuming it is a belt driven engine like my 1.6 uk focus, i had the same fault as mine and after extensive investigation i found the cam belt tensioner to be weak and tapping causing cambelt to wear
